Corruption in DC

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

Corruption

The White House is for sale

It really isn’t a mystery

He’ll put your enemies in jail

The most corrupt in history

Twenty billion for a crypto fraud

From the United Arab Emirates

If you own his crypto applaud

If you don’t you will not benefit

Twenty billion for rightwing dictator

Argentina’s Javier Milei

To circumvent the liquidator

So that he might survive the day

A new golf course in Indonesia

What will they get for that?

Do the people have amnesia?

Do they forget they smelled a rat?

The most corrupt presidency ever

That includes the Teapot Dome

Kaching! Just pull the lever

The chief will guide you home

Protests in Kiev

 RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: UKRAINE

Protests in Kiev

Divisions in the ranks

Protests in Ukraine

Rubles in the bank

All efforts are in vain

Putin puts his dirty hands

In places they don’t belong

A sour note inside the band

Will fracture every song

It’s hard to maintain unity

In the face of constant pressure

But unity is what we need

With faith in equal measure

Russian hands are everywhere

Beware the infiltrators

Pretending that they really care

When all along they’re traitors

Do not forget democracy

Without it we are lost

We can’t afford hypocrisy

One man is not the boss

Ill-Gotten Gains

 RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: CRYPTO

Ill-Gotten Gains

Crypto is a currency for ill-gotten gains

A front for criminal enterprise

Where crypto goes it leaves a stain

Of corruption, greed and lies

Our president is just a mob boss

Without the usual ties

There is no line he wouldn’t cross

No scheme he wouldn’t buy

If you promise to be loyal

He’ll treat you like his friend

If you deal in gold and oil

On him you can depend

He’ll open up the public lands

To private exploitation

If you’d like to use the family brand

He’ll sell you half the nation

And no one will know anything

It’s all behind closed doors

They have the flags and everything

They own the company store
