RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: GLOBAL POLITICS
Taiwan’s Shadow
As the Iran War consumes our weaponry
Taiwan should be worried
While we’re obsessing with one enemy
The Chinese threat is stirring
If China attacked Taiwan
How would we respond?
Would we let them bang the gong?
Would we sever our long-held bond?
If we can strike a sovereign nation
Five thousand miles from home
Consider China’s strained relations
With those within its zone
They hammered down on Hong Kong
For daring to defy them
Striking Taiwan would be wrong
But how could we deny them?
We’ve overextended our military force
Far beyond what they can handle
It is time to set another course
Declare victory and light a candle
