The Russian Party of America

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

The Russian Party (RPA)

The Russian Party of America

Is on the front line in the war

Putin is the high commander

Trump is holding the door

The Speaker of the House

Is hardly worth his weight

He’s lost all of his authority

To control his party’s fate

The party of Ronald Reagan

Would not recognize itself

Instead of trust but verify

They’ll send us straight to hell

Soon the leader of our nation

Could owe allegiance to another

Like the child of another mother

We would be Putin’s little brother

In a world that’s lost its balance

When on balance we depend

We risk losing our democracy

From which we’ll never make amends

Serving Putin

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

Serving Putin

We are not fooled

You are not the party of peace

You have always found money

To finance your wars of choice

You’ve even cooked the books

To hide your military spending

You have not suddenly found a conscience

You have not suddenly seen the light

You have not tired of endless wars

You’ve not grown weary of the fight

Your party has a new master now

He has transformed you into fools

You bow before his majesty

You cater to his rules

If he says jump you say how high?

You’ve become his lowly tools

But your master has a master too

His name is Vladimir

When he cries you all shed a tear

He tells you when and what to do

He’s losing on the battlefield

He is losing his great war

His last best chance at triumph is

To convince us it’s not worth fighting for

He has his American allies

Just like the Nazis did

When Trump tells us we can’t win

He’s bidding Putin’s bid

Nineteen Years (for Navalny)

 RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: RUSSIA

Nineteen Years (for Navalny)

This is how dictators deal with opposition

Nineteen years in perpetual prison

For founding an independent press

For leading a political party

A sentence that will be renewed

Until the people forget or

Navalny breathes his last breath

As Putin does to Navalny

So Trump would do to all opponents

Should he recapture the White House

Hillary Clinton: Lock her up!

Hunter Biden: Lock him up!

Mike Pence: Hang him!

Jack Smith: Lock him up!

The Democratic Party: Lock them all up!

Navalny gets nineteen years

Nineteen years for speaking out

Nineteen years for democracy

Nineteen years for the truth

Nineteen years for opposing war

How many years will Joe Biden get?

How many years will Ari Melber get?

How many years will Gavin Newsom get?

How many years for journalists?

How many years for impartial judges?

How many years for dissident voices?

How many years for protesters?

How many years for you?

How many years for me?

Enemies of Democracy

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: WORLD DEMOCRACY

Enemies of Democracy

Putin is a master propagandist

A pretender to democracy

His elections are a farce

He assaults the free press

He destroys political opposition

He attacks his democratic neighbors

For daring to choose their own leaders

Xi is a master of propaganda

Another pretender to democracy

Isn’t it strange how ruthless dictators

Find it necessary to pretend?

There is no genuine journalism

No institutions of free speech

No challenge to government dictates

No resistance to oppression

Erdogan is a wolf in sheep’s clothing

He exploits the religious right

He jails journalists and opposition

He punishes freedom of thought

He rules with the fist of fear

He maintains military control

Bolsonaro is a wannabe

He tried to negate a lawful election

He tried to silence the opposition

He tried to punish dissent

He failed

Netanyahu is a wannabe

He despises independent speech

He tried to gut the judiciary

He would destroy the free press

If he had half a chance

He would establish military rule

Trump is a threat to democracy

He admires only strongmen

He disrespects the rule of law

He wishes to use the justice department

To punish and silence his enemies

Given a chance he would end

Democracy in America and

Appoint an American King

The Russian Candidate(s)

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

The Russian Candidate

The war in Ukraine comes to America

In the next campaign

Trump and his loyal allies

Are the Putin candidates

The Russian candidates

The turncoat candidates

They will surrender Ukraine and

Call it peace

They will give Putin a free pass

To invade his neighbors

To reclaim the Soviet empire

To expand its oppressive reach

To rebuild the Iron Curtain

Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic

Slovakia, Romania, Hungary beware

They will call it justice

They will call it retribution

They will call it restoring balance

It will be none of these

The eventual truth will unfold

Like a scroll from the heavens

Donald Trump is a Russian asset

Putin holds his markers

Those who walk with him

Walk hand in hand to hell

Talkover at CNN

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: TRUMP DAZE

The Talkover at CNN

The big bully doesn’t have conversations

He runs over you like a bulldozer

Like the bully that he is

And if you dare try to stand up to him

If you dare try to get a word in

He calls you nasty names

He holds you in contempt

And places you beneath his majesty

He has his narrative of fantasy

He sticks to his talking points

Everyone who disagrees with him

Everyone who interrupts his flow

His constant flow of sacred words

His golden jewels of wisdom

Is on the take of the elite

Under the influence of haters

Drunk on the manna of media madness

He alone can set you free

He alone can end the madness

He alone can restore dignity

He alone can lead the world to peace

He alone can give women want they want

He alone can make America great again

He alone can put people in their place

He alone is the genie of all genies

You know it, I know it

Everybody knows it!

The insurrection never happened

January 6 was a walk in the park

America has gone to hell

The Proud Boys are heroes

Stand back and stand by!

He’s got a job to finish:

Ending democracy in America

The Left Left Me

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

The Left Left Me

The left has been my sanctuary

A place where I belonged

A place that always welcomed me

Together we stood strong

Along came Trump and Putin

A force as evil as can be

Some say I left the left

I say the left left me

Putin funnels his dirty money

Into parties left and right

He offers you a spot of cash

He owns you if you bite

The left was once his adversary

Now they’re adversaries light

They’ll say it’s for the greater good

But we know that it’s not right

So now they do his bidding

On the invasion of Ukraine

They’ll pin the blame on NATO

Though they know that it’s insane

They pretend it’s not aggression

It’s the propaganda game

It’s a push for a new empire

By any other name

It’s a fight against democracy

They ought to be ashamed

It’s as plain as it could be

Some say I left the left

I say the left left me

The Putin Caucus

 RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: UKRAINE

The Putin Caucus

They walk the sacred halls

As if it is a game

But they answer to the call

Of someone else’s name

They are the Putin caucus

They serve his want and need

They answer to the Donald

They answer to his greed

They are American in name

They are Russian by their deeds

They want to sever fair Ukraine

And plant there Russian seeds

It is time to send them home

As our democracy demands

We’ll have no foreign agents

Who follow enemy commands

The days and weeks ahead

Will tell us where we stand

Are they but few and scattered?

Are they the leaders of the band?

Ukraine is in the balance

Their freedom and their fate

Abandon our alliance

They become a Russian state

Deformity of the Soul

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: LIFE SONGS

Deformity of the Soul

Remember Richard, Lord of Gloucester

Killer of his nephews in the Tower

Whose deformity of the spine

Was so pronounced that dogs barked

As he approached them

Richard was a villain with a pleasing tune

He charmed his victims before the blade

It would be wrong to judge a man

By his physical deformity and yet…

Many lives would have been spared

Had Richard been judged by his

How much easier it would be if we

could recognize deformities of the soul

as readily as we do those of the body

for though they may not be clear to the eyes

they are exposed to the other senses

Those with deformed souls are clammy

to the touch, sour to the taste

There is a faint sound of moaning and

their smell is of rotting corpses

We need only get close enough to

touch, taste and smell them to know

and be forewarned

But who among us is brave enough

to venture so close and live?

Putin's Allies (the Devil's Companions)

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: GLOBAL POLITICS (UKRAINE)

Putin’s Allies (the Devil’s Companions)

Putin launched his war on the west

Long before the invasion of Crimea

Infecting the body politic with the

Promise of nationalist authoritarianism

Poisoning the public discourse

With fear of the immigrant others

Le Pen and Zemmour in France

Matteo Salvini in Italy

Schroder and Weidel of Germany

Thierry Baudet of the Netherlands

Kyriakos Velopoulos of Greece

Santiago Abascal of Spain

Boris Johnson of Britannia

Bolsonaro of Brazil

Trump of the USA

They trip over their own tongues

Their own promises and loyalties

Yet the truth is clear

They are soldiers in Putin’s army

A war against democracy

A war against western values

A war against individual rights

And civil liberties

Listen to them carefully

For when the sanctions begin to bite

They will show their true colors

They belong to Putin

And they will return to him

At first light

Song of Oleg (Deripraska)

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: WORLD AFFAIRS

Song of Oleg (Deripraska)

I sing of Oleg, Putin’s stooge

Pressed by the law he came unglued

To the FBI he sang his song

The Donald was their man all along

I’ll sing all day and I’ll sing all night

I’m very rich but not so bright

Vladimir made me do it all

If you doubt my word, give him a call

We’re all a part of Putin’s scheme

To own America is Putin’s dream

It was just a dream til he came along

When he began to sing our song

Of mother Russia proud and true

There was next to nothing he would not do

He pushed forward and we held him back

Slow it down but stay on track

Now give me diplomatic immunity

Let me operate with pure impunity

Keep me safe from Putin’s goons

And I will sing for you a tune

And tell a tale of Putin’s sorrow

His dream of a new Russian tomorrow

(regards to e.e. cummings)

Dual Uprisings

RANDOM JACK POETRY HOUR: GLOBAL DEMOCRACY

Dual Uprisings

They’re marching in the streets of Moscow

To put an end to a ruthless dictator

They marched in the streets of Washington

To defend an unscrupulous traitor

We support the Russian dissidents

In their struggle for democracy

We despise the American insurgents

For their contemptible hypocrisy

We join with those who bravely oppose

The oppressive reign of Vladimir

We stand hand in hand in unity against

Those who impose their will through fear

They are bashing heads in Russia

While here we are in despair

They’re fighting for their democracy

We need to show we care
