This world to forsake

Who shook the earth to its core
Will you seek a new start
Will you open a door
Will you burn the bridge behind you
Will you bid us farewell
When you have your own children
What stories will you tell
About those who came before you
Who forgot the ones to come
Who were blind to the future
To the past deaf and dumb
What love will you harbor
What hearts will you break
